Hibant introduces people looking for care to local PAs, self employed care and support staff and micro-providers.
The things that matter most are rarely on a form. Somebody who speaks your language. Somebody who knows the same streets, understands your faith, understands the food, and shares similar interests and values. Somebody who walks in and already feels familiar.
Here you look for that yourself, and you choose the person. Nobody is sent to you.
Why we started
Our founder spent two years as a care worker. This grew out of what that showed, from both sides.
Somebody listens to you, and writes down who you are and what they make of your needs. That assessment might then go to a separate team, who look for whatever care package is available. Then somebody arrives who knows only what is written on it.
So the care may not be shaped around you at all. More often it is rigid: you fit yourself around the plan, rather than the plan being built around you.
And because the team was never chosen by you, it might change. Different care, different people, and you explain it all again from the start. Including the parts that are hard to say out loud.
On the other side are care and support staff who love this work and are worn down by it. No say in who they work with, no flexibility, and little control over their own week. And pay that many feel does not match what the work takes out of them.
Those are the same problem wearing two faces. The people it is actually happening to are the last ones to decide anything.
What we are trying to do
Care built around what matters to you. Decided by you, arranged the way you want it, with somebody you chose yourself. Not handed down by a stranger who has read about you on paper.
And care and support staff who pick their own work, set their own price, and are properly paid for one of the hardest jobs there is.
Both of those, or neither. They were never separate.
What we actually do
You tell us what you need, and you see who matches it before you speak to anyone.
You message them, and you get to know them.
You agree the care directly with them, including the price.
Then we keep the record here, for your convenience, and give you the tools to run it. The agreement you both signed. A schedule of every visit. A note after each one, saying what actually happened that day. Invoices from a self employed carer, or timesheets where you employ a PA. All of it kept in one place.
Carers keep what they earn
Care work is one of the hardest jobs in the country, and people working in it often feel the pay does not reflect the effort.
Carers here set their own rate and keep all of it. Free for families and carers. We never take a percentage of anyone's care budget.
In practice that means a carer decides what their own work is worth, chooses who they work with, and has a real chance to earn properly from a career they already give everything to.
A carer who is paid properly stays. That is the whole point.
Carers can also be verified by Hibant
Being listed here and being verified by us are two different things, and a carer's own card tells you which they are.
We check photo ID. Right to work. A DBS check. Insurance. Two professional references, which we take up ourselves. The Care Certificate. And an interview with us.
When all of them are done, their card carries Verified by Hibant. Until then it says plainly that they are not, so you are never left guessing.
