About Hibant

Why we started Hibant.

Because finding care for someone you love should feel guided, personal, and genuinely human. Hibant was built to make that possible.

Why Hibant exists

Our founder is a former care worker who has worked closely with individuals and families and has seen, first hand, the quiet struggles that often sit behind care arrangements.

For families and service users, care can feel impersonal. Different carers may arrive each week, relationships struggle to form, and families are often not given the chance to properly understand whether a carer will be the right fit before care starts. Care is frequently shaped by rigid systems rather than by real lives.

For self-employed carers, the work can be exhausting. Many are not fairly compensated for the time, energy, and emotional labour they give. Long hours, limited choice, and feeling undervalued can lead to burnout.

Hibant was created to bring care back to what it should be. Human, relational, and built on trust.

The vision

Connect families with exceptional self-employed carers who want to build genuine relationships with the people they support. Create space for carers to feel valued and fairly paid so they can show up fully and consistently.

Give families real choice, continuity, and care that adapts to their lives rather than the other way around. Hibant exists because care works best when people feel seen, supported, and respected on both sides of the relationship.

Fair pay, better care

The average domiciliary care worker in the UK earns somewhere between £12.21 and £14 per hour, often less once unpaid travel time between visits is factored in. It is one of the most demanding jobs in the country and one of the least financially rewarded. The consequence is a sector with high turnover, exhausted workers, and families who rarely see the same face twice.

At Hibant, we believe this does not have to be the case. We operate as an introductory agency, which means we remove the layer of overhead that traditionally sits between carers and the families they support. Carers on Hibant set their own rates and keep around 90 to 92 pence of every pound a family pays them. In practice, this means carers on Hibant tend to earn in the region of £20 per hour, compared to the sector average of around £13. That is approximately 54 percent more, not through magic, but simply by removing the layers of overhead that have always made care an underpaid profession.

The families we work with do not pay more to receive better care. They simply pay in a way that reaches the carer rather than being absorbed by agency margins. When carers feel genuinely valued, they stay. They invest in the people they support. They show up with energy, patience, and the kind of quiet presence that makes a real difference in someone's daily life. Everyone benefits when the person doing the caring is properly supported.

Rooted in London

Built for real people, in real communities.

Hibant starts in London because this city is where we come from, where we know the streets, and where we believe we can make care feel different. London is not one place. It is hundreds of neighbourhoods, terraced streets, purpose-built flats, and family homes where real people are navigating something deeply personal, often quietly, and often alone.

We want to build something that belongs here. An introductory care agency that reflects the warmth, diversity, and quiet dignity of the people who live in this city, and that supports the carers who show up for them every single day.

This is about more than a service. It is about changing how care feels for the families who need it, and how it is valued by the people who give it.
